the One Rule is
Do Nothing to Harsh the Vibe
Sounds simple, right? Dig out that thesaurus and list a few words that also mean "succinct." I love being taciturn but sometimes, that leaves too much open to interpretation. Fortunately, I also love being as detailed as possible so that there are fewer surprises down the road.
Code of Conduct
This is to be an inclusive space, respecting the humanity of marginalized identities while also incorporating the creative spirit of the smallweb.
Note that I didn't say, "inclusive for everyone." You Are Not Welcome Here If You Are: anti-trans, anti-lgbtqia, anti-feminist, anti-DEI, right-wing or alt-right, blue lines, and believe in nonsense like "reverse racism."
Yes, the Internet is a void. But we still dwell within it.
- No Adult Content (PG, PG-13, and Web-14 Only)
- No Hate Speech
- Content Warnings must be used for sensitive topics
- No AI Content
- Do Not Spread Misinformation (including conspiracy theories)
- No Harrassment
- White Supremacy is prohibited
There is Zero Tolerance for bigotry, and there is no neutrality when it comes to the lives of others.
Free Speech does not mean Free From Consequenses. You don't have a right to be here and we don't need to tolerate any of your bad behavior.
Corollaries
- We will also not promote crypto, NFTs, blockchain, and other Web3 grifts.
- ...or any grifts, for that matter.
- There will be no "punching down"/jokes/satire at the expense of marginalized identities.
- There is no separation of "politics" from "everything else."
Mod Discretion
Basically, what the mods say, stays. And what the owner of OFV says is the final word.
